Took Charlotte to see her first movie IN (I repeat, IN) the theater!
A couple of weeks ago there was a Toy Story marathon on one of the local channels and Charlotte was immediately smitten; she even managed to 'talk me into' getting her very own Jesse doll (not really difficult, I'm a pushover). Most every day she requests to watch 'Toy Store' and then promptly hands us the remote. When we realized Toy Story 3 just came out in theaters, we threw our hands up and thought, "Why not?"
So, off to the theater we went. Charlotte brought Jesse, of course, and had her own bag of popcorn (no spills either!). She had a tough time keeping the seat from closing on her so Stevens and myself each kept a leg on a corner. A couple of times she got real excited and started chatting and voicing her opinion as loud as humanly possible. The result? Lots of shushing from Mommy + Daddy and lots of laughter from all other movie patrons (it really was pretty darn funny).
Overall? A total success :)
Mimi arrives tonight and we're all a little excited about that too!
Last night on the way home Charlotte and I stopped to grab some good 'ol Chic-fil-A and I was sure to ask for ranch dipping sauce (I think she likes the ranch better than the actual chicken and fries). We pulled into the drive way and were able to take the doggies out just before the heavens opened up and made way for a huge thunderstorm. Dinner conversation...Boom! Boom! Boom! (thunder, in case you didn't know)C: Mommy, I no like funderthstormth.M: It's ok sweetie; there's no reason to be frightened. They're just loud and will go away soon. I promise; no worries.Charlotte takes another bite and contemplates really hard.C: Mommy? I my ranch to funderthstormth? They go way then?M: Sounds like a fine idea to me.
Just making note of it - "God Damnit!"
...Adrian, Ciara + Vivienne for the lovely get well lilies - they've now opened and are in full bloom......Mom and Jim for the edible arrangement; it sadly didn't make it to light of day for a photo shoot......Kelley for coming over Tuesday to make me lunch and for bringing magazines......Carly for coming over Wednesday to make me lunch, bring me chocolate cake and styling my hair (made me feel like a million bucks)......and to the BEST HUSBAND EVER for sneaking a little lady bug love card into one of my magazines and for just being you...love to everyone :)
Anyone need a pin cushion? Hire me! Just joking and trying to make light of a rather painful recovery. Sunday evening I had a gall bladder attack followed by emergency surgery Monday morning. I'm now at home resting and very thankful for the invention of laparoscopy (instead of slicing me open, they poked holes = a faster recovery).
Don't really need to say much here but, look at those ringlets! Go here for more.
