Our last full day :( The guys lingered and took care of some work stuff. The ladies rallied as quick as possible and headed straight for the beach. GrandDad joined us and into the ocean we went. It was short-lived - Charlotte got stung by a jelly fish. Poor thing. So, we headed back to the condo where Daddy sprayed her down with vinegar. She also had an oreo cookie (great medicine) and a little milk to ease the pain.
After lunch, the pool (surprise, surprise). Charlotte started pulling herself out of the pool (from the side) without any help! We've been working on that all summer - so nice to see it actually happen. Looks like swim lessons are in the near future for our fearless fish!
We stayed at the pool until the absolute last minute, headed back for showers and then down to Sea Pines for dinner at QC's. One last round of ice cream later, it was time for packing and another nighttime swim for Charlotte and GrandDad.

Day 6, Hilton Head
After our daily beach/pool excursion, we all hopped in the car and headed down to the bay to rent a speed boat for the afternoon! It was truly fantastic - Uncle Ado drove, the rest of us just chilled and kept a keen eye out for dolphins (yes, there were lots!).
It was Daddy's night to cook and he put together a fantastic feast (courtesy of our Rachel Ray cook book) of spinach and beef stuffed shells and a fresh side salad. Then, off to bed - we were all thoroughly exhausted.

Day 5, Hilton Head
Our guys were up and out of the house for a round of golf before anyone else made a peep! We (the girls) chilled for the most part, tinkered, made a little breakfast and then headed to the Coastal Museum for the butterfly exhibit. It was fabulous. Charlotte really liked it though, I have a feeling, the butterflies weren't too ecstatic about her visit. I totally forgot the camera (bad, Mommy!) and had to borrow Aunt Ciara's...hint, hint, nudge, nudge... Upon our return the guys were there waiting, we ate a bit and then headed to the beach. Oh, the beautiful beach! It was a napless day (again) and after our showers, Charlotte fell asleep on my lap (again) :)
After dinner from Giuseppi's we headed out for an evening of family photos (by Legacy Photo again). Charlotte was quite the stinker - didn't want to look at the camera and was pretty darn stubborn. I think we all managed to make ourselves look like goons trying to get her to smile :) Anyhoo, we'll see the proofs on Friday. Hopefully there's at least one good shot in there!
Upon our return to the condo we hit up The General Store (again) for some ice cream and then headed back for a nighttime swim!

Day 3, Hilton Head
So today was mostly a pool day. By the time we all got our act together and got down to the beach, the lifeguards were chasing us away because of big thunder clouds and lightning. The best things about today? An unexpected sleep snuggle and Charlotte started jumping (from the side) into the pool - all by herself; the fearlessness is amazing. We went for hibachi and followed that up with Charlotte's first ice cream cone. Yes, it WAS a big hit. And yes, she has had ice cream before - just not on the cone.

Day 2, Hilton Head
Day 1, Hilton Head
Got on the road about 8 in the morning and had pretty darn uneventful (and napless) trip. We surely thought Charlotte would sleep just a little considering the 11:30PM bed time and the 7AM wake up call. But, no; the little lady was just too excited to see the beach, Mimi, GrandDad, Uncle Ado, Aunt Ciara and Cousin Vivienne.
Upon our arrival we were greeted by everyone, unpacked quickly and headed straight for the sand and water; Charlotte even jumped the waves this year (with Daddy of course)! Speaking of, poor Daddy ended our first day with a jelly fish sting :(
A little vinegar, muddy sand and a few showers later, we met up with Ashley and Rich for a lovely dinner at The Black Marlin.
